The son of concentration camp survivors and a fierce, outspoken critic of Israeli and American policy regarding Palestine, Jewish-American professor Norman Finkelstein courts and combats controversy at every turn. Directors David Ridgen and Nicholas Rossier travel with Finkelstein to heated speaking engagements and interviews to give an up-close-and-personal look at Finkelstein’s mission to dismantle what he describes as “the Holocaust industry” in which Israel and the Diaspora exploit the Holocaust to divert attention away from their oppression of the Palestinians. What emerges is a portrait of a passionate renegade whose zealous fervor has made him enemies throughout the academic community (he has been fired from two universities), but whose strength of conviction doesn’t allow anything to deter him from his mission.
